What a title company should do

- Record the Deed, Deed of Trust (Mortgage) and other legal documents relevant to the transaction
- Disburse monies accurately and on time
WHAT A TITLE COMPANY SHOULD NOT DO
- Be unresponsive or give opaque responses
- Have a biased interest
- Insert hidden fees and costs
- Delay the selling/buying process
- Make the closing process inconvenient or difficult
- Provide no clarity on the selling/buying process
PRIME ABA AND MSA
We at Prime Title and Escrow refuse to participate in any Affiliated Business Arrangements or Joint Ventures (also known as ABA’s, JV’s or “legal kickbacks”). This includes Marketing Service Agreements (MSA’s). In these arrangements, title companies give a referral fee to their referral partners (frequently your real estate brokerage or your lender) for sending them business. This fee is paid by YOU, the consumer. We at Prime Title don’t have this fee arrangement- this results in a lower cost for us, and we pass that lower cost along to our clients.
Simply put, we at Prime don’t have to pay for business and we pass the savings on to you.
